Crazy robots, evil disease: End of world teeposted by Angie · March 9, 2009 7:44 AM

I love it when the world ends on a tee.

Basically, my feeling is that there are far too few t-shirts reveling in possible armageddon. I think it’s a very unexplored but badly needed area of fashion and I can tell you that my wardrobe, at the very least, could use some apocalyptic luv.

Enter this cute, cute white tee from artist Aaron Augenblick called The End of the World. It features a comic-book-like design screenprinted on the front of the tee featuring such gems as “Crazy Robots” “Evil Disease” and my personal favorite: “Big Explosions”. You can get a zoomed-in version of the comic design itself on the web site, which is totally worth looking at.

(I think the design would rock as a print, too.)

Also, “the Mutant” on the front is a really cute mutant. If you’re into that sort of thing.

The shirt is an 11-color screen print and looks like it would be great quality.

Will the Large Hadron Collider kill us all?posted by Blaine · September 10, 2008 9:18 AM

Mention Experiment, Science, High Energy and Early Universe in one breath and you will undoubtedly get some ignorant savage expounding on how it will destroy the Earth and lay waste to modern civilization. After all, what else could happen?

So while its a shame that critical thinking isn't taught as a subject in our schools, there is an opportunity for us to turn to the web.  After all, don't you let the collective do your thinking for you today?

Which leads me to a site with Credentials.  With a domain name like ours, how could this public service not be authoritative? -  Has The LHC Destroyed The Earth?

[Haven't heard of the LHC? It's a nascent triumph of the particle physics gurus, a 27 km loop of vacuum built in Switzerland.]

* Egregious capitalization and sneering are all meant in the spirit of Science.  Yup, with a capital S.
